It’s Jummah today!
Reciting Qur’an, particularly Surah Kahf, is a Friday goal for many people and this hadith highlights how beneficial it is to actually memorise the first 10 ayahs.

I managed it alhamdulillah, but it wasn’t easy and took about a year of on and off commitment. Memorising as an adult is so much harder isn’t it?!

I wanted to share the one thing which helped me immensely when memorising the 10 ayahs of Surah Al Kahf…and what is helping me to revise the short surahs I learned as a child but don’t remember fully anymore…

an app called Memorize The Holy Qur’an. The ‘loop’ feature is the best because it will play one or more selected ayahs over and over until you’re ready to move on to the next – brilliant! It has also helped me to slow down when reciting in salah & has improved my tajweed because I can’t help but mimic the reciter’s way of reciting.

I highly recommend it for all ages, particularly impressionable children who love gadgets. This is one of those positives we can glean from electronic devices.

What tips and tricks do you use to memorise the Qur’an?
